Tune up done, Trim off.

Martin and I ended up going to the shop and working on the car.
We finished the tune up, removed the trailer hitch, cut off the
exhaust, removed the horns, took off the exterior trim, and took off the bumper covers.

We found the rear bumper to be rotted off of the mount…need to fix
it.  The mounts have another un-used screw hole, so we can probably
just drill new holes and bolt it up.  Might want to consider adding a
reinforcement plate for the other bolts anyway, though.  We also
started taking off the plastic filler panels between the bumpers and
wheel wells, but it looks a little raw, so we just removed one so we
can get team consensus.  Removing them is probably better for racing
so if they do get knocked off, we won’t get black flagged, but they
are attached quite well, so they might not get knocked off.

After the tune-up the car idles much smoother.

Keith also noticed a fuel leak, so I am adding “replace leaky fuel
hose” to the to-do list…should be a simple fix.

I started trying to remove the interior A/C evaporator, but it was too
much surgery to get to it for the 2-lb weight savings.

Keith drained coolant, so we are closer to a new water pump.
