Interior is Out – A/C removal in process
Chief surgeons Keith, Scott, Chuck, and Brice performed several operations to remove useless organs from the Volvo. An interior-ectomy and a condenser-ectomy were completed, and an A/C compressor-ectomy is in process. Our resident Neurosurgeon, Chuck, started working on the patient’s wiring. At the end of the night, we ended up with an automotive biohazard tray full of useless organs that no transplant-waiting-list patient on their deathbed would want — BUT, if you know anyone who needs parts from a 1988 Volvo, let us know ASAP – our prices are very reasonable.

Chuck started tackling the wiring rat’s nest caused by a poorly installed Chapman lock system, and started removing unnecessary copper stranding without “letting the smoke out” of the important ones.

Keith found a real rat’s nest in our air box, luckily on the right side of the filter so as not to get inhaled by Volvo lungs.

Scott disassembled the front seats, and confirmed that we can modify the factory seat brackets for our Momo Racing seats (seats count as safety equipment, not toward the $500 limit; plus Brice had them laying around). This will give our racing seats sliding and tilt adjustments. And we found some more pocket change to add back into the account.

Keith started removing the buried A/C compressor, but then had to run home by 8:00 to catch Top Gear on TV (oh yeah, and spend time with his wife and new baby).
Brice came late to the party, but successfully removed the whopping 2-lb A/C condenser (yay, now I can eat a 2-lb bag of Oreos)…but at least it frees up airflow to the intercooler and radiator.
But, where was Martin????? Oh, he got stuck at work, and for some reason he thought keeping his job was more important than LeMons. Kids these days…

I am jealous. Really wish I could be up there working on the car.
